Gym fee receipt generator

A receipt written in a notebook is fine until a member disputes a payment, or an auditor asks why the numbers jump. This makes a clean one: the plan and the period it covers, the discount written down as a discount, and GST split out if you are registered.

Everything stays in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored, and there is nothing to sign up for.

What belongs on a gym receipt

Whether or not you are GST registered, a receipt should let a member — and one day an auditor — see exactly what was paid for.

  • Your gym’s legal name and full address
  • A receipt number, unique and in one unbroken sequence
  • The member’s name and membership number
  • The plan, and the dates the period covers
  • The amount, and how it was paid
  • Any discount, shown as a discount rather than a quietly lower price
  • If registered: your GSTIN, the taxable value, and CGST and SGST shown separately

The GST position, as it stands

Gym and fitness centre services moved from 18% to 5% on 22 September 2025. The important condition is that the 5% rate comes without input tax credit, so you charge members less and can no longer claim credit on rent, equipment or electricity.

For an intra-state membership the 5% splits as 2.5% CGST and 2.5% SGST, which is how this tool prints it. Rates and classifications change and your accountant knows your books — confirm anything here with them before you change what you charge.

Two habits worth keeping

Number receipts in one sequence across the whole gym, never restarting mid-year and never leaving gaps. A missing number is the first thing an auditor asks about.

Issue one for cash too. Cash is where gym bookkeeping usually falls apart — not through dishonesty, but because nobody wrote it down and by Friday nobody remembers.

Questions

What is the GST rate on gym membership in India?
Five per cent without input tax credit, since 22 September 2025. It was 18% with credit before that. Confirm your own position with your accountant.
Do I need GST registration for a small gym?
Only once turnover crosses the threshold for services in your state. Because the 5% rate carries no input tax credit, voluntary registration is far less attractive than it was at 18% with credit — worth discussing with a CA rather than copying another gym.
Is anything I type here stored?
No. The receipt is built in your own browser and nothing is sent anywhere. Close the tab and it is gone.
Can I use this receipt as a tax invoice?
It carries the fields a membership receipt normally needs, but whether it satisfies your obligations depends on your registration and state. Show one to your accountant before using it as your standard format.
